Alpari Tour Champion, Ian Williams, nominated for ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award London (3rd October 2013):  Reigning Alpari World Match Racing Tour Champion, Ian Williams has been nominated for the 2013 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award. The Awards are presented every November to one male and one female winner and is the highest award a sailor can receive in recognition of his/her outstanding achievements by the world of sailing. For the 2013 awards the qualifying period was from 1 September 2012 to 31 August 2013. Ian Williams has been nominated for this award after claiming an impressive fourth ISAF Match Racing World Championship title in December 2012, surpassing three-time victors Russell Coutts, Chris Dickson and Ed Baird and drawing level with Peter Gilmour (AUS). Williams is a formidable force on the match racing scene and held the World #1 Ranking spot for 16 consecutive releases.  The 2013 edition of the Alpari World Match Racing Tour has seen Williams top the current scoreboard and after four events Williams looks on track to take his fifth world title and become the most decorated ISAF Match Racing Champion in history. As the Alpari World Match Racing Tour heads into the penultimate event next week in Bermuda for the Argo Group Gold Cup there is still everything to play for.  Following Bermuda, Williams will still have the chance to clinch the title at the series final, the Monsoon Cup, in Malaysia. The winners will be announced at the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards presentation and dinner, taking place on Tuesday 12 November 2013.
