Planes & FX Part V - Nakajima Ki-27 "Nate" Type97 Fighter.



This one shows the Nakajima Ki-27 "Nate". With some Ken "Burns fx" and Kodakchrome. And it is a tribute to the Japanese fighter ace Hiromichi Shinohara. 

Type97 Fighter
Introduced in 1937, 3368 planes were built.
Until World War II Ki-27 was the main fighter
of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force.

Hiromichi Shinohara was the IJAAF's
highest-scoring fighter ace.
From 27 May 1939 - 27 August 1939 (when he was shot down)
Shinohara claimed 58 aerial victories, all with the Ki-27.
On 27 June 1939, over Tamsak-Bulak
Hiromichi Shinohara shot down 11 planes,
Shinohara earned thenickname "Richtofen of the Orient".
